About Us


Enrich local life through eleven businesses


AOBAYA, founded in 1956, is a company with a long history. AOBAYA operates no less than 11 businesses: Duskin rental and cleaning service, funeral service, flyer distribution, adult day care, employment support for high school students, exercise therapy for children with developmental delays, and laundry and café services. Having 11 businesses has enabled the company to run stably amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Even if some businesses face uphill struggles, other businesses can make up for the difficulties as a team. AOBAYA has developed businesses in Tohoku and other regions including Tokyo and Hokkaido. They are narrowing and connecting their target areas so that they can deal with customers promptly and offer service that is specifically tailored to their needs.

AOBAYA’s goal is to make customers, employees, and society happier together. For customers, they are always trying to meet their requests and be the best service provider they can be. For employees, they are creating a resilient company that is capable of protecting their jobs even if the company cannot make a profit for three years. It is also crucial to offer diverse opportunities and support so that they can fulfill their career goals. A specific example of this is that employees have a personal interview with the CEO once a year, and they can suggest five ideas to improve the company directly to him. They will continue to diversify their business to improve the company culture and achieve higher customer satisfaction.

What do you expect of employees?



We have a Vietnamese employee in the digital department. Even though he had not specialized in digital technology before joining us, he became fully capable of doing the job and communicating in Japanese after training. What we value is personality, including enthusiasm towards work and communication skills, rather than academic background and qualifications. Although a certain level of Japanese language skill is necessary for workplace communication, it is possible to acquire business-related skills through practical experience. Moreover, we hope employees can display their full individuality and creativity.

 


How does the support and promotion system operate?



We have a comprehensive support system for every employee both inside and outside the business. We analyze the characteristics of each employee with a profiling tool to facilitate communication with colleagues. We try not only to promote mutual understanding but also to take advantage of personal strengths. Employees are promoted not based on seniority, but their performance and results. In other words, we do justice to your self-improvement at work. As our organization is divided into small groups, we have a close collaborative system that facilitates dialogue among workers.
